Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 150 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 29 persons as the result of investigations on Lewis Street, Thomas Street, Wallace Road, Humber Drive, Claiborne Street, 2nd Avenue South, and Harding Place. Seized were 3.1 ounces of cocaine, 24 grams of marijuana, 161 various pills, two weapons, and $606 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Stewart’s Ferry Pike, Lewis Street, Hadley Avenue, and Tulip Grove Road. Seized were six grams of cocaine, 418 grams of marijuana, 227 various pills, and $9,960 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 30 persons as the result of investigations on the 400 block of Elmington Avenue, 28th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue, Old Hickory Boulevard at Amberwood Circle, Vernon Avenue, 9th Avenue South at Gleaves Street, and 37th Avenue North at Park Avenue. Seized were 490 grams of marijuana, 1,242 grams of cocaine, 226 Lortab pills, 105 ecstasy pills, one weapon, five vehicles, and $3,925 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 33 persons as the result of investigations on Westchester Drive, Lake Road, Brick Church Pike, Dickerson Pike, Queens Lane, and Old Hickory Boulevard. Seized were 1.22 pounds of cocaine, 8.64 pounds of marijuana, 41 various pills, ten weapons, two vehicles, and $6,839 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on North 5th Street, the 1000 block of Riverside Drive, Whites Creek Pike, Briley Parkway, Dickerson Pike, Trinity Lane, the 1100 block of Lillian Street, Granada Avenue, and the 2100 block of Carter Street. Seized were 72 grams of marijuana, two Dilaudid pills, and one handgun.
Central Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, 10th and 11th Avenues North at Jefferson Street, 6th Avenue North at Hume Street, Rosa Parks Boulevard, and 4th Avenue North. Seized were 29 grams of marijuana and 21 grams of cocaine.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
