Metro police officers assigned to the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the SWAT team early today arrested fugitive murder suspect Quentin Tyrone Smith, 24, inside 3108-B Brickdale Lane.
Task Force officers had received information that Smith was inside the residence. He was taken into custody without incident. Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and TBI agents were also on the scene. Smith had been on the TBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.
Smith is under indictment for first-degree murder for the August 2008 shooting death of Kenneth Crawley in the J.C. Napier public housing development. Crawley, 18, was on a bicycle in the early morning hours of August 3rd when a small white pickup truck pulled in front of him. Two men, believed to be Smith and Finis Lewis, got out of the truck and opened fire on Crawley. Lewis, a parolee and gang member, was arrested for the murder last October.
